Workforce Investment Board (WIB)

The Workforce Investment Board  (WIB) of Santa Cruz County funds the full services Career Center at Watsonville, in partnership with the California Employment Development Department (EDD) and contributing Partners. The Workforce Investment Board is charged with developing a Workforce development system, mandated by the Federal U.S. Department of Labor,  Workforce Investment Act (WIA).

The system offers integrated and coordinated access to employment and training, education, and economic development services to job seekers and businesses in Santa Cruz County. The Workforce Investment Boards are composed of business, civic, education, labor and other community leaders.

The WIB is a policy board, which directs federal, state and private funding for occupational skills training and educational programs. The WIB's have been called upon to play a major role in a variety of key state employment initiatives. To learn more about the WIB visit their web site.
